Why window film, and the problems it solves
Street exposure, afternoon heat, screen glare, fading, and safety concerns can all be solved through the right film, without replacing the glass.
Here's the part most installers won't tell you.
You pay for your space. You should be able to use all of it, windows included. Privacy film lets you see out without anyone seeing in. No blinds, no curtains. Just your view, your light, and your space back. One thing most installers will not tell you: privacy film works on daylight balance, so it is strongest when it is brighter outside than inside. After dark that reverses, and with the lights on indoors film alone will not do the same job. On bedrooms and street-facing glass we plan for that in the specification from the start.

Why not just replace the glass?
Safety glazing requirements and energy targets, handled before they become your problem. And when the alternative is replacement, film does the same job without the construction. Replacing glass is not a window, it's a project: permits, lead times, and a crew working in a space someone is trying to live or work in. The construction costs more than the glass does. That is why the window usually stays exactly where it is, while the sun keeps working on the floor, the furniture and the cabinets until those get replaced instead. Film goes onto the glazing you already have, usually in a single visit. And if you ever want it gone, it comes off cleanly with no damage to the glass.
